Varroa Holistic Management Workshop - River Hawk Bee Sanctuary- Brunswick Heads

This comprehensive workshop will focus on a holistic management of Varroa Mites in European Honeybee colonies before the infestation gets out of hand.  You will learn how to set up for easier varroa management and how to prepare for the arrival of the mite. How to do Varroa tests and how to make your own sticky boards. Melinda will talk about current DPI rules and regulations and will take you on a tour in the world of the Varroa Mite itself.  We will have a look at different management options, before threshold and what to do after the mite count is over threshold. Will be lots of tips and demonstrations that will help you in this fight against Varroa mite and give you some knowledge how to work with your colony for the preparation of genetic resistance. As always, you will go home with a 'tool bag full of knowledge.'
